37 municipal kindergartens closed till autumn
37 municipal kindergartens will remain closed until September, due to reduced attendance and repairs, reports Info-Prim Neo.
According to Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb, head of the General Department of Education, Youth and Sports, at the moment all education institutions are under intense repairs and 37 kindergartens are closed.
The children’s attendance rate in the capital’s kindergartens is of 55%. 1% does not attend for health-related reasons, and 44% stay at home with their parents, who are on vacation, or with their elder siblings.
As for the education institutions’ staff, Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb mentioned that suburb kindergartens have 7 vacant medical assistant positions, and some schools lack teachers for science disciplines. However, young specialists will be hired in the near future. According to indications from the Ministry of Education, the young specialists will have priority for being hired. After their distribution, the remaining vacant places will be given to retired professors, based on a 1-year contract that they will sign with the education institution.
