Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Deputy Minister of Education Tatiana Potang said that about 1,000 places at summer camps are usually offered initially, while another several hundreds are provided afterward.
The deputy minister said that the criteria according to which the students that will go to Romania will be selected have not been yet agreed, but the previous years they included the academic standing and the involvement in out-of-school activities.
“We try to choose children from all the country’s districts. The district education divisions submit lists of students with god results at school, Olympiads, and sports and artistic competitions,” said Tatiana Potang.
Half of the 360 places will be granted for the period between June 25 and July 2, while the other half – for July 2 - 9. All the costs related to accommodation, meals and transportation will be covered by the organizers.
The Ministry of Education will allot 100 tickets to Moldovan summer camps for Romanian students.
The measures are taken based on the cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sport of Romania and the Ministry of Education of Moldova.
