3500 drivers were fined over the weekend, more than half of them for speeding, IPN reports.
33 drivers drove drunk, another 39 - without seatbelts. As many as 700 cases were related to parking in prohibited places and failure to obey road signs, respectively.
Other offenses detected by police officers over the weekend included missing roadworthiness documents and failure to give pedestrians priority.
The police were called to the 112 emergency number to intervene in 388 cases, says the IGP in his report for the last two days.
