3,300 Moldovan students traveled to US as part of exchange programs
A total of 3,300 Moldovan students have traveled to the United States as part of the U.S. Embassy's student exchange programs since their start in Moldova, U.S. Ambassador to Chisinau Asif J. Chaudhry told the Seventh Alumni Congress on Saturday, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Embassy's exchange programs offer Moldovan students two-year post-graduate studies in the United States, on a competition basis, and at the end of every academic year they are offered internships.
According to the ambassador, the exchange programs have the mission to contribute to mutual understanding between the two nations. “The democratic values and the liberties of the American people should be shared with the Moldovan citizens in order to contribute to Moldova's economic prosperity”, said Asif J. Chaudhry.
At the Congress, the Embassy awarded the best graduates of the exchange programs for the significant role in developing Moldova's alumni community.
The Congress also elected 7 new members of the Alumni Board.
