33 villages in Moldova are still in blackout, a week after the natural disaster that occurred on January 3-4, when the strong wind and sleet downed hundreds of power pillars, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the press officer at the Exceptional Situations Department, Rubina Bubuioc, 33 villages out of about 400 affected by the natural disaster from central and southern Moldova have not been connected to the power supply networks as on December 11, at 8.00. 13 of them are located in Cahul raion, 9 in Cantemir, 6 in Leova, 2 in Ialoveni and one village in Causeni, Cimislia and Gagauzia. At present 65 teams, including 204 persons and 60 special technical units are liquidating the effects of the disaster. On Tuesday morning, 72 villages were not connected to power. About 20 villages are connected every day. At present, the high tension power lines of 10 kV are being repaired. Those of 330 kV and 110 kV were repaired in the first days after the calamity in light of the fact that they are strategic for the supply of the country with power. At the extraordinary session of the Republican Committee for Exceptional Situations that took place at the Government on Monday, the minister of Industry and Infrastructure, Vladimir Antosii promised that all the affected villages will be connected to the power networks by Friday.
