33 NGOs to set up National Council for Participation

33 non-governmental organizations will delegate by a representatives of theirs to form the National Council for Participation (NCP), subordinated to the Strategic Planning Inter-Ministry Committee conducted by the Prime-Minister, Info-Prim Neo reports. Premier Zinaida Greceanai said Thursday the council was to develop and promote the strategic partnership among public authorities, the civil society and the private sector to strengthen the participative democracy in Moldova. The NCP's mission is said to be participating in developing, monitoring and assessing the national policies, and creating a consulting frame for central public authorities. The membership in the Council is free and optional, and the duration is 4 years. The NCP's decisions shall be adopted by 50%+1 votes of the attending members. 42 NGOs participated in a public contest to become members of the NCP, as 33 representatives were selected. The government is to issue an ordinance on setting up the National Council for Participation.
