32 songs admitted to live auditions stage of Eurovision National Selection 2024

Thirty-two songs of 29 participants were admitted to the live auditions stage of the Eurovision National Selection 2024. The decision was taken by the National Selection Organization Committee given that the songs meet the conditions stipulated by the Regulations on the conduct of the Eurovision National Selection 2024, IPN reports, quoting a press release of Teleradio-Moldova.

The live auditions stage will take place on January 13, 2024. The competition will involve 29 performers with 32 songs as some of them will compete with two songs.

The contenders are: Maria Ciolac with the song “Break free”, DPSTP – “RISE UP”, Olive Sky – “Another Universe”, Victor Gulick – “Fever”, “Vele” Band – “Carnival”, Sasha Bognibov – “Married to Twins”, Denis Midone – “Back to Me”, Y-Limit – “REVOLUTION”, Olive Sky – “Loud and Clear”, Victor Lozinsky – “Dirty Wind/Joker and Harley Move”, Cotton Tudor – “Tudorel”, LAURA – “Tell me”, POLI – “Lui”, Iulia Teleucă – “Runaway”,  Julea Viola – “Light up!”.

Also, Sasha Letty will sing the song ”DNA”, Max Cara – “Broke the Chain”, Reghina Alexandrina – “Contrasens, Valleria – “Run”, Valleria – “RULE” (Rai di ri di)”, Natalia Barbu – “In the Middle”, Anna Gulko – “Perfect Place”, OL – “No Time No Space”, Catalina Solomac – “Fever”, Anna G – “Ay ay ay”, VOVI ROBIAN Band – “Vovi Robot”, Valeria Pasha – “Anti-Princess”, Oleg Spînu – “Jungle”, Y-Limit – “What’s the Fun”, Nicoleta Sava – “Bravo”, Nino – “Up Again”, and Aliona Moon feat. Milla with the song “Tired”.

The sings are available on www.eurovision.md website. The live auditions on January 13 will be broadcast live on the linear and nonlinear channels of Teleradio-Moldova Company.

The score will be awarded 100% by the jury. The composition of the judging team will be made public only on the day of the auditions stage. The jury will consist of an odd number of members (minimum three, maximum five) and will be different from that of the national final. According to the Regulation, the assessment criteria are: melodic line; originality of the song, and performance.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will take place in Malmö, Sweden, after singer Loreen won last year’s competition with the song “Tattoo”. The semifinals will be held on May 7 and 9 and the winning country will be decided in the May 11 final.

In 2023, Moldova was represented at Eurovision by Pasha Parfeni, who ranked 18th in the grand final with the song “The Sun and the Moon”. Moldova’s best result at Eurovision was achieved by SunStroke Project in 2017, when this band ranked third with the song “Hey Mamma”.
