32 new infections with COVID-19. Toll rises to 231

As many as 32 new cases of infection with COVID-19 were confirmed in Moldova on March 28. Two of these are of import, while 30 are of local transmission, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu stated after the meeting of the Single Command Center that manages the COVID-19 pandemic, IPN reports.

According to the minister, two of the persons diagnosed with the novel coronavirus today returned from the UK and, respectively, Romania. The local cases of infection were recorded in Chișinău, Ștefan-Vodă, Soroca, Ialoveni, Anenii-Noi, Cahul, and Hâncești. A number of 231 samples were processed during the last 24 hours.

Prime Minister Ion Chicu said there are signals that the measures imposed by the Commission for Exceptional Situations for containing the COVID-19 pandemic are increasingly respected. He welcomed the churches’ reaction to the requests not to hold services. This way, religious ceremonies in the presence of parishioners will not be held.

The number of infections with COVID-19 in Moldova came to 231. Of these, five got cured, while two died.
