The Chisinau Municipal Council approved the extension of the Personal Assistants service for another 300 persons with special needs. About 5 million lei will be allocated from the municipal budget for the purpose, IPN reports.

Currently, there are 480 personal assistants who look after adults with severe disabilities in Chisinau municipality.

Personal assistant can be any person, including the members of the biological family of the person with disability, aged between 18 and the retirement age. To benefit from a personal assistant, the persons should file an application to the community social assistant or the local social assistance division.
