The government has modified the nominal composition of the delegation that will negotiate the pilot program for the recruitment and employment of citizens of the Republic of Moldova as caregivers of the elderly with disabilities in Israel, proposed in 2018. Ion Dodon, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Protection, has been appointed head of the delegation, reports IPN.
In 2016, according to the NBS, there were about 13 thousand Moldovan citizens on the territory of the State of Israel. Nearly 10 thousand were employed as caregivers of the elderly with disabilities or were looking for a job as a caregiver.
According to the pilot program under negotiation, 300 Moldovan citizens could be hired at the first stage. Israel has undertaken to monitor the implementation of the program, not to admit the excessive taxation of these persons, to evaluate the competences of the employees, their qualification, to make proposals for improving the recruitment procedure.
