30 heating and temporary accommodation centers with a total capacity of 1,325 places have been opened in different localities in the Transnistrian region, IPN reports.
The locations were set up three days ago, when gas supplies to the Transnistrian region were cut off. In many buildings, including schools, kindergartens and administrative institutions, the supply of heating was also cut off.
In the context of the shortage, the Transnistrian authorities have activated a task force to monitor the energy crisis and have set up a hotline for the population for support. In the coming period, as temperatures drop, further difficulties and challenges are expected, writes local media.
Although the MGRES power plant has switched to coal, the Tiraspol administration has emphasized that this is a temporary solution and that the plant can provide the region with electricity for the next 50 days.
