The strong winds damaged the electric power lines in 30 settlements. Sixteen of them are in Hancesti district.
Dorina Sochirca, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the power supply is off in villages of Hancesti, Orhei, Cimislia, Calarasi, Anenii Noi, Cantemir, and Ialoveni districts. Specialized teams are working to restore the supply of electricity.
The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service warns against setting the waste on fire as the powerful wind can quickly spread the flames.
