The 2nd Armored Infantry Brigade "Stefan cel Mare" of the Ministry of Defense, celebrated its 14th anniversary. It was created at the same time with the sanguinary events of 1992 on Nistru River. According tot the press service of the Ministry, 10 soldiers of this brigade have fallen on the battlefield, and later eternized in a monument, on the occasion of those 14 years since the creation of the brigade. According to the sources from MD, during those 14 years since the foundation of the "Stefan cel Mare" brigade, the whole effective showed an enormous work capacity, thanks to which the realization of several primordial tasks for the R. of Moldova were possible. The Minister of Defense, Valeriu Plesca thinks that a special place among these achievements has the participation of soldiers in the renovation of the Memorial Complex "Eternitate" (“Eternity”), in major repairs of the Bulboaca Instruction Centre for the display of multinational applications from September, 2006. As part of the recruiting campaign, this autumn, 3,135 young men will be enrolled in military service, including 1,385 young men who will be enrolled in the units of the National Army, 825 – in the subdivisions of the Carabineer troops and 850 in the Frontier Guards service. The recruiting campaign will start on November 1, 2006.
