A number of 227 persons diagnosed with COVID-19 in Moldova are in a serious state in the hospital and 28 of them were put on a ventilator. A 61-year-old man from the municipality of Chisinau died, IPN reports, quoting the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.
The man was transferred from the “Saint Trinity” Municipal Clinical Hospital to the Emergency Medicine Institute in Chisinau in critical condition on April 25. He suffered from arterial hypertension and respiratory insufficiency. This is the 133rd death caused by COVID-19 in Moldova so far.
As many as 121 persons were discharged from the hospital on May 4. In total, 1,544 persons have been cured.
Of the 4,248 infections with the novel coronavirus, 1,055 are among healthcare workers. Of these, 352 recovered.
