28 persons charged in case of corruption at Leuseni – Albita customs post

A number of 28 customs inspectors and border police officers were charged with passive corruption following the operation performed at the Leuseni-Albita customs post, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

By now, based on the applications filed by prosecutors, judged issues warrants for the arrest of three persons - two customs inspectors and a border policeman. A customs officer and three border policemen were put under house arrest, while three customs inspectors were temporarily released.

According to the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, by the evening of October 24 the judges are to examine the applications to issue warrants for the arrest of another 12 suspects.
