The contest commission chose 27 teachers who will take part in the final of this year’s Pedagogue of the Year contest. They include eight educators, ten teachers and nine professors, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Ministry of Education. According to the communiqué, the participants took an ingeniousness test, presented by a public lesson and improvised a speech, based on a pedagogical case study titled “In the name of the future”. The public lessons were held in institutions where the contenders never taught classes. The jury assessed the qualitative achievement of the operational objectives of the activity and the method of showing the personal teaching style. Based on the final results, the contest commission will designate the winners. They will be awarded publicly in a festivity dedicated to the Professional Day of Education Workers, which will take place in October. The winners in every category will be conferred the titles “Educator of the Year”, “Teacher of the Year” and, respectively, “Professor of the Year”. They will also receive a prize of 50 000 lei.
