As many as 26 communities in ten districts of Moldova were disconnected from the power supply following the recent rain. According to the most recent reports of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, villages of the districts of Orhei, Stefan Voda, Causeni, Anenii Noi, Cahul, Cantemir, Leova, Dubasari, Soldanesti and Florești remained in blackout at 7am on July 28, IPN reports.
Rescuers were called to pump water out of 14 gardens and cellars in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia and in Taraclia, Cahul and Causeni districts.
Specialized teams are working on the spot to restore the supply of power. Local commissions for emergencies are to assess the damage caused by the rain.
The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service recommends the people to follow the weather forecasts and to alert the authorities in case of dangerous or urgent situations.
