2.5m lei for adopting European standards as national standards
The Government has allocated 2.5 million lei for implementing the national program on the adoption of the European standards as national standards. The program includes 1,503 standards that will be used to supervise the market, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the executive, the European standards ensure conformity and compliance with the essential conditions set in the national technical regulations adjusted to the European directives and approved by the Government.
These technical regulations are: “Safety of Low-Voltage Electrical Equipment”, “Building Products”, “Conditions for Selling and Using Medical Devices”, “Safety Requirements for Personal Protective Equipment”, and “Equipment and Protective Systems Intended for Use in Potentially Explosive Atmospheres”.
The National Standardization and Metrology Institute is the only national standardization authority. The adoption of the European standards as national standards will help the Moldovan products to easier enter the EU market and will ensure a better quality of the products on the home market.
