A 62-year-old man is investigated for hiding 250 commemorative coins in a suitcase with the intention of illegally taking them into Moldova through the Leușeni customs post, IPN reports.

When examining the baggage of passengers traveling to Moldova by a minibus, customs officers found the 250 commemorative coins in the personal belongings of a nonresident. These weren’t declared to the customs authorities.

The passenger said the coins belonged to him and refused to make any other statements.

The undeclared coins were seized and transmitted to specialists for examination. The investigation into this case goes on.
