25 children from the diaspora chosen winners of “Moldova is ME” contest

Twenty-five children from Moldova’s diaspora became the winners of the contest “Moldova is ME”. The participants wrote poems or made a short film on the issue, with the main hero being the person who applied. Besides diplomas and presents, the children were automatically chosen to take part in the 2019 governmental program DOR Diaspora*Origins*Returns, IPN reports.

The contest involved children aged between 7 and 18 from Canada, Ireland, Austria, Greece, the United States, Portugal, Bulgaria, France and Italy. As the submissions had a penetrating message, all the participants were declared winners.

The contest held in the course of December was staged to encourage children from the diaspora to improve their knowledge of the Romanian language, to develop linguistic skills and to promote national culture.

The State Chancellery, in partnership with UNDP Moldova, will ensure the continuation of the contest. A new contest will be organized next year and this will involve children from the diaspora and also from Moldova.
