Twenty-three candidates will be awarded government-subsidized postdoctoral scholarships that will cover all tuition costs, and 26 others will cover their own expenses, according to a plan that was approved by the Government on Wednesday, December 20, states IPN.
Education, Culture and Research Minister Monica Babuc mentioned that the admission plan has drawn from the proposals submitted by the institutions that train scientific research staff.
Overall, 60 postdoctoral seats have been requested: 34 in state institutions, with full scholarships (including seven seats within the ASM) and 26 seats on full tuition, predominantly within private institutions. The plan has been adjusted to respond to recommendations given by the Ministry of Finance, namely to avoid an increase the number of full scholarships awarded, to fit within the projected financial aid budget. Concomitantly, the research topics were chosen based on their degree of relevance to the country’s strategic research and development goals.
