A number of 23 education institutions of the country remain closed owing to the low temperatures. Among these are 15 kindergartens and eight primary and secondary education institutions, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Education, eight education institutions partially stopped work in Cahul and Cantemir districts. More than 1,000 children remained at home. In Leova and Ocnita districts, 15 kindergartens will not work until January 13.

Twelve school bus routes were suspended and over 500 could not thus go to school.
