22 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in Moldova

Another 22 infections with COVID-19 were confirmed in Moldova on March 27. Four of these are of import and 18 are of local transmission. The information was presented by Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu after the meeting of the Single Command Center for managing the COVID-19 pandemic, IPN reports.

According to the minister, four more employees of the National Clinical Hospital were diagnosed with COVID-19, taking the number of infected medical workers to eight.

In the case of 45 persons, new tests were done to see if the virus is still in the body. Eighteen of the tests turned out to be negative. These persons will be tested again next week and if they test negative, they will be discharged. Nine persons tested negative the second time and will be discharged from the hospital today or tomorrow.

According to Prime Minister Ion Chicu, those infected include a priest of the Chisinau Church “Saint Archangel Mikhail”. In this connection, the official called on the parishioners not to go to church these days. The employees of the Ministry of Home Affairs were instructed not to allow holding services involving parishioners in churches.

The number of persons infected with COVID-19 in Moldova rose to 199. Of these, two died. Another two persons are considered cured.
