Since the beginning of this year, 22 cases of online sexual abuse and exploitation of children have been recorded, the General Inspectorate of Police said in a press release.
0Of the 22 criminal cases initiated, 17 involved children exploited in child pornography. In another case, minors were involved in the sale of child pornography and money laundering, but also in “perverse actions” and violation of personal life.
On the margins of the investigations conducted this year, psychological assistance was offered to two child victims, and four minors were heard with the participation of a psychologist.
In order to reduce risks, open and continuous communication with the child is advised. Parents should explain online safety measures to their children. Minors should be instructed not to communicate their names, addresses or other personal data to foreigners. Also, internet users are urged to use high-security and unique passwords for each account, which should be changed often.
