218,000 flu shots available in Moldova. Immunization to start

As many as 218,000 flu shots were delivered to Moldova. A consignment of 188,000 flu shots was purchased with funds of the National Health Insurance Company, while another batch of 30,000 shots was donated to Moldova by the Task Force for Global Health based on an agreement, IPN reports.

The Ministry of Health said that both of the batches were stored at the National Vaccine Storehouse of the National Public Health Agency. The vaccine doses will be distributed to public health centers and later to public health facilities all over the country for immunizing children and adults from high-risk groups and professional contingents.

“Vaccination is the safest and most efficient method of preventing infection with flu. As the previous flu season, it is recommended getting simultaneously a vaccine against flu and a vaccine against COVID-19,” the Ministry noted in a press release.

The influenza vaccination campaign is to be started.
