The trial of the case against officials of the Chisinau City Hall opened in 2004 will continue on December 10. The hearing set for November 18, the 211th, was adjourned because one of the defendants and a judge fell sick, the head of Chisinau’s Centru district Vladimir Sarban has told Info-Prim Neo. The case involves Alexei Cebanenco, Vlad Modarca, Ion Paladi, Gheorghe Raileanu and Vladimir Sarban. They are accused of committing different offences while working in the Chisinau administration. In a recent interview for Info-Prim Neo, Vladimir Sarban, who had been secretary of the Chisinau Municipal Council in that period, said the trial is delayed because a number of legal cases had been connected into one for other reasons than legal. He also said the will prove his innocence by all legal ways possible. Sarban was imprisoned over the ‘ambulances case’ in November 2004 and set free on October 2005, only after the decision of the European Court of Human Rights was published on October 4, 2005. The former Mayor General of Chisinau Serafim Urecheanu, who had been accused of the same counts, went through all the trials and was acquitted.
