21 polling places to be opened in Moldova for Romanian presidential elections

A number of 21 polling places will be set up in Moldova for the Romanian presidential elections that will take place on November 2. The addresses are available on the websites of the Ministry of the Interior, in the division “Presidential elections in Romania 2014”, IPN reports.

Four polling places will be established in Chisinau: one at 66/1 Bucuresti St (Embassy of Romania), two at 2 Grigore Ureche St (Romanian Consulate), and one at 43 Vlaicu Parcalab.

By one polling place will be opened in Orhei at 9 Chisinaului St, in Nisporeni at 8 Ion Voda St, in Hancesti at 132 Mihalcea Hancu St, in Calarasi at 19 Mihai Eminescu St, in Cahul at 11 B.P. Hasdeu St, and in Cimislia at 2 Ion Popusoi St.

The voters in Balti will be able to cast their ballots at the polling place situated at 51 Sf. Nicolae St, those in Soroca – at 74 Independentei St, those in Ungheni – at the Ungheni Consular Office at 35 Mihai Eminescu St, those in Drochia – at the Drochia Distrcit Council at 15 Independentei St, those in Giurgiulesti – at 22 Independentei St, while those in Cantemir – at 1 Stefan Voda St.

In Ialoveni, the Romanian citizens will be able to vote at the polling place set up at 86 Alexandru cel Bun St, in Floresti – at 6 Stefan cel Mare St, in Leova – at 67 Stefan cel Mare St, in Edinet – at 65 Independentei St, while in Falesti - at 1 Alexandru Lapusneanu St.

Romania will establish 294 polling places abroad.

Fourteen candidates are running for presidency in Romania. These are: current Social-Democratic Premier of Romania Victor Ponta; the leader of the National Liberal Party Klaus Iohannis; independent candidate Calin Popescu Tariceanu; head of the People’s Movement Party Elena Udrea; MEP Monica Macovei; former director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Teodor Melescanu; chairman of the Greater Romania Party Corneliu Vadim Tudor; leader of the Democratic Union of Hungarians in Romania Hunor Kelemen; former Liberal-Democratic MP William Branza; former mayor of Cluj and senator of the Greater Romania Party in the legislature of 2004-2008 Gheorghe Funar; TV presenter Dan Diaconescu; leader of the Socialist Alliance Party Constantin Rotaru; leader of the Party “Prodemo” Mirel Mircea Amaritei, and the representative of the Hungarian People’s Party of Transylvania Zsolt Szilagyi.
