The 2013 draft budget of Chisinau municipality includes about 20 million lei for repairing Mircea cel Batran Blvd. in Ciocana district, Info-Prim Neo reports. Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca said a tender contest was held and the contract for executing the repair works was signed. The works were to start in 2011, but the investments made in unplanned repair works in 2012 were large and they couldn’t be initiated. According to the mayor, there are 10 streets under repair in Chisinau and it was unreasonable to start reconstruction works on a new street when there were no funds. Therefore, priority was given to the streets that haven’t been repaired for about 50 years.
