A sum of 736 million lei will be additionally transferred to the Road Fund for maintaining the 5,951 km of national roads, including for repairing regional roads that are in a poor state, as the Government decided on Wednesday, IPN reports.
Out of the total sum, over 123 million lei will be used to maintain roads and sidewalks in summer, while 35,000 lei will go to cover the costs in the 2022-2023 winter season and to start to store antiskid material for the 2023-2024 winter season.
As regards works and services for periodical maintenance, the sum allocated earlier will be raised by 33 million lei. 500 million lei will be allocated for repairing regional roads “G”. Priority sectors for repair were chosen using the road asset management system: 88 km of regional roads in 29 districts of Moldova.
An additional sum of 8.7 million lei will be allocated for the extensive repair of roads and bridges. For the management of public roads, 39.7 million lei will be allocated following a decision by which the International Court of Arbitration ordered to fully pay the works and debts accumulated by a building company.
