The state budget allocations intended for the education system in 2019 will be by over 647.2 million lei or 6.5% higher compared with this year, IPN reports, quoting the draft state budget law for 2019 approved by the Government.
“The money will go to improve access to high-quality education and to optimize the education process. Among other goals are to strengthen the institutional capacities, to improve the education financing models and to ensure the correlation of studies with life and the national economy,” stated Minister of Finance Octavian Armașu.
The planned financial resources will be used to renovate education institutions, to replace the equipment and furniture in classrooms and laboratories, to stage professional development courses for teachers and managers of general education institutions and to develop the content of curricula in primary, secondary and lyceum education.
A sum of 152.1 million lei will be allocated in the framework of the Moldova Education Reform Project supported by the World Bank.
Over 2 billion lei was earmarked in the 2019 draft state budget for supporting primary, secondary, lyceum, vocational and higher education and for providing education services.
