Parliament named 2017 as the Year of Nicolae Testemitanu. Deputy Minister of Health Oleg Craciun said in Parliament that the relevant draft decision is an initiative submitted by the State University of Medicine and Pharmaceutics “Nicolae Testemitanu”, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the birth of the scientist who laid the foundations of doctor training in Moldova, IPN reports.

Democratic MP Valentina Buliga said Nicolae Testemitanu laid the basis of medical assistance in rural areas and contributed to promoting young specialists in the medical system. She proposed that these areas should be strengthened next year and called on society not to forget the academician’s achievements.

The draft decision does not stipulate additional costs for implementing the program of activities dedicated to the Year of Nicolae Testemitanu.
