The Government proclaimed 2012 the Year of Ion and Doina Aldea-Teodorovici, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to Minister of Culture Boris Focsa, in 2012 it will be 20 years of the death of the two personalities of the Moldovan culture and the Romanian spiritual area. By their patriotic songs, the two twin hearts blessed what is beautiful and holy – the parental home, the fire in the fireplace, the nation’s dignity, the Romanian language and Latin script, the national ideals. The songs “Sovereignty”, “Holy is the House”, “Capriana Monastery”, and “Banks of the Prut” represented stimuli to obtain and proclaim Moldova’s independence.
Ion and Doina Aldea Teodorovici died in a tragic road accident on October 30, 1992.
Under the Government’s decision, the Ministry of Culture within a month will present the national program of cultural-artistic activities dedicated to Ion and Doina Aldea-Teodorovici.
