The State Budget for the year 2008 is predicted to amount to 12.9 billion lei, increasing by 2.2 billion compared to the initially set indicators for the year 2007 and by 1.2 billion compared to the amended indicators. Minister of Finance Mihai Pop announced on Wednesday, August 8, in a government session that the main features of 2008’s budget legislation, based on macroeconomic indicators, are being currently defined. According to him, the Ministry of Finance is also consulting the local public administration and other relevant departments in order to draw up the planned expenditures of the national public budget for the year 2008. Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev requested that all budget-financed institutions have the possibility to spell out their objections and proposals, so that the draft budget law for the next year proves to be efficient and excludes any ambiguity.
