2007 Mandatory Health Insurance Fund’s incomes exceeded expenses
The Mandatory Health Insurance Fund over the last year collected incomes totalling about 2.36 billion lei, or by 2.2% more than projected. The collected incomes represented a 36% increase, or by 477 million lei more on last year.
According to the General Manager of the National Health Insurance Company, Gheorghe Russu, basic mandatory health insurance incomes constituted 1.9 billion lei, an increase of 4.4% compared with the initially set level. State budget transfers made up 1.19 billion lei or 58.7% of the total income. Income from health insurances made up 37.3%.
The funds collected from selling health insurance policies to individuals amounted to 24.2 million lei or by 1% more than planned. Other collections exceeded the planned level by 25.8%.
The expenses of the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund totalled 1.82 billion lei or 96.8% of the planned amount. A part of the remainder will be paid during the month of January, 2008. Administrative costs in 2007 made up 24 mln lei.
In 2007, the National Health Insurance Company concluded contracts with 116 medical and sanitary institutions and 133 pharmaceutical institutions. The payment of compensations for drugs rose by 17 million lei, or by 71.8% on 2006.
160,000 anti-flu vaccines were bought to immunise the population against this viral infection. In 2007, 60 vehicles for the establishments providing primary medical care were bought from the Mandatory Health Insurance Fund.
