As many as 200 soldiers tested within the “Under Clear Sky 2013” exercise will be transferred to do their military service in subunits of the Moldovan Peacekeeping Forces in Cocieri, Cosnita, and Varnita, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Defense, the young soldiers were tested at six training places after they had been familiarized with the history of the Transnistrian conflict and the peacekeeping agreements, the status of peacekeeper and the missions at checkpoint and crossing points, and were instructed in first aid giving, patrolling in the area in charge, identification of explosive devices and fast-track actions for four months.
Another about 200 soldiers drafted last July, who did their military service in the Moldovan Peacekeeping Forces in the Security Zone during six months, have been transferred to the National Army’s reserve.
The military contingents of the Moldovan Peacekeeping Forces in the Society Zone are rotated for two times a year. As part of this process, the soldiers who worked as peacekeepers in the eastern districts of Moldova are transferred to the reserve and their duties are taken over by a new contingent.
