200 blocks in Chisinau municipality may not be connected to heating system
About 200 blocks in the municipality of Chisinau that paid less than 80% of the heating bills for the previous season will not be connected to the heating system until they do not liquidate all the debts to Termocom SA.
The company’s administration pledged to connect the entire town to the heating system by October 25. Termocom commercial director Mihai Arusoi told the administrators of the housing sector not to reduce the deliveries of heat if the temperatures go up the next days, but only to stop the supply for several hours. According to him, if the deliveries of heat are reduced, only 60% of the apartments will receive heat in lower volumes, while the others will receive no heat.
Such a situation, Arusoi says, could generate new conflicts between the company’s administration and the population that will not want to pay for what it consumed because the housing sector administrators do not take this aspect into account and the bills are for all the consumers the same.
Chisinau Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca ordered that the 2007 - 2008 heating season in the capital city be opened on October 15. He issued such an ordinance after the thermometers showed 8 degrees Celsius and below for three days in a row. The education establishments, housing sector and healthcare institutions will be connected to the heating system the first.
