About 400 students in the Transnistrian region do not go to school as the lessons were interrupted following a significant increase in the number of acute viral infections and flu cases. There were closed 20 schools. The kindergartens are not attended by 120 children. The information was made public by the chief doctor of the Tiraspol Hygiene and Epidemiology Center Alexandr Peciul, who was quoted by “Novyi Reghion” Agency on its website, Info-Prim Neo reports. As many as 50 cases of flu have been recorded in Transnistria so far. Alexandr Peciul warned that the AH1N1 flu virus cannot be destroyed by antibiotics or homeopathic drugs and recommended avoiding self-treatment. On the night of February 27, a woman aged 56 died from AH1N1 flu in a hospital in Chisinau after developing complications. This is the eight case of death caused by flu in Moldova so far this year.
