The number of people infected with COVID-19 who are in a serious state of health rose from 12 to 20. Seventeen patients in a serious condition are treated at the Infectious Diseases Hospital “Toma Ciorbă”, while three at the National Clinical Hospital, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu stated after the meeting of the National Focal Point in the morning of March 25.

IPN quoted Viorica Dumbrăveanu as saying that over 1,000 persons have been examined so far. Forty-five of the 125 confirmed cases of infection were imported primarily from Italy, France and the UK, whereas 80 are cases of local transmission, with 32 cases of these being recorded in Chisinau and 18 in Hâncești.

As many as 116 persons are currently suspected of being infected with COVID-19.

The novel coronavirus claimed one life in Moldova to date. Two infected persons got cured.
