Twenty medical oxygen generators bought in the framework of the World Bank-funded Moldova Emergency COVID-19 Reponses Project will be installed at national, municipal and district public health facilities. Three oxygen generators with the capacity of 16.8 m³/h were already installed at the Hâncești District Hospital, the Criuleni District Hospital and at the Hospital of the State Chancellery, IPN.
According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, medical oxygen generators will also be set up at the district hospitals in Cahul, Căușeni, Edineț, Soroca, Orhei, Ungheni, Florești, Comrat, Anenii Noi, at the Municipal Children’s Hospital “Valentin Ignatenco”, the Municipal Clinical HospitalNo.1, Saint Trinity Municipal Hospital, the Republican Hospital “Timofei Moșneaga”, the Emergency Medicine Institute, the Bălți Clinical Hospital, the Municipal Clinical Hospital “St Archangel Mikhail” and the Mother and Child Institute
Oxygen therapy is important in the treatment of patients with respiratory failure caused by COVID-19. A number of 92 ventilators and 400 oxygen concentrators have been purchased so far for medical institutions within the WB project. Another 200 ventilators are to be acquired in the immediate period.
