Nearly 51,000 border crossings were recorded at Moldova’s border checkpoints in the past 24 hours. Over 25,000 of these were entries into the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, 20 foreign nationals were denied entry to the country, IPN reports.
According to a press release from the Border Police, the busiest border was the one with Romania, with 24,800 crossings, while the border with Ukraine saw 15,800 crossings.
A total of 10,300 people passed through Chisinau International Airport, making it the most frequently used border crossing point, followed by the Leuseni, Sculeni, and Otaci checkpoints.
The Border Police also reported that at the Ukrainian border, 13,400 Ukrainian citizens crossed in just 24 hours, with more than half - over 7,000 - on the entry route to Moldova. Almost 2,000 of these were minors.
