The Ministry of Finance will allocate 861,000 lei for paying allowances to particular categories of people who didn’t raise preferential loans from financial institutions and didn’t have an own home according to the situation on October 22, 2004, IPN reports, quoting a Government decision.

The one-time allowances are intended for 20 beneficiaries from nine districts. The money is provided for building, purchasing or repairing homes.

The money is distributed based on special commissions’ decisions that were presented by the local public authorities.

The beneficiaries include persons who suffered as a result of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, rehabilitated victims of political repression and veterans.

A sum of 8.5 million lei was earmarked in the 2018 state budget for the purpose.
