A man aged 19 from Chisinau was caught driving on the M2 Chisinau-Ialoveni road at a speed of 185 km/h, exceeding the legal limit by 95 km/h. The General Police Inspectorate said that this is not the first offense committed by the young man and he will be fined up to 5,000 lei and will have his driving license suspended for a period of up to 90 days, IPN reports.
In another case, a 34-year-old man from Hîncești district was caught driving at 154 km/h, exceeding the legal limit by 64 km/h. He will be fined up to 2500 lei and his license will be suspended for a period of up to 45 days.
More than 3,800 traffic violations were recorded over the weekend. As many as 2,108 drivers were caught speeding on different road sections in the country, while 25 persons were driving in a state of inebriation.
