19 schools didn’t open doors to students today

Of the 1,252 schools existing in Moldova, 19 didn’t start the school year with students in classrooms on September 1. The students of these schools will study remotely, President Igor Dodon said after the meeting of senior state officials, IPN reports.

“Practically all the education institutions in the Republic of Moldova, I refer to schools, reopened today. I want to congratulate the students, the children who returned to kindergartens. My youngest son went to the kindergarten with pleasure today and I think the largest part of the parents who are watching us now are glad that the children returned to schools and kindergartens,” said President Dodon.

He noted that in the course of this year he will put forward a legislative proposal to increase the salaries of education system employees, as in the case of healthcare workers, who will enjoy higher pays as of September 1 this year.

In another development, Igor Dodon reminded that the citizens who return to Moldova from countries that weren’t put on the “red” list are not obliged to self-isolate for 14 days when entering Moldova as from today. This list will be updated periodically by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.
