Another three persons have applied for the position of mayor general of Chisinau municipality. To date, the number of all candidates amounts to 19. Mihai Petrache representing Moldova Centrist Union, Valentina Tapis, on behalf of the Law and Justice Party, and Mihai Roscovan, who will run as unaffiliated candidate, submitted their files on Thursday, May 3, on the final day for making submissions for the position of Chisinau mayor in the June 3 general elections. The same parties have also submitted the lists of candidates in the Municipal Council. At the same time, several independent candidates applied for councillor on Thursday. Out of 19 persons who submitted their files for the office of Chisinau mayor, 17 were fielded by political parties, and two are independent candidates. 34 electoral competitors, of which 19 political parties and 15 independent candidates applied for the office of councillor.
