19% of apartment buildings in Chisinau heated
About 19% of the apartment buildings in the municipality of Chisinau and all the kindergartens are supplied with heat, it was announced in Monday’s ordinary meeting of City Hall officials, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Deputy mayor Vlad Cotet said that the housing stock will continue to be connected to the heating system today and tomorrow so that all the apartments start to be heated until Wednesday.
Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca said the heat bills will rise by about 10% after the heat charge was increased by 89 lei to 987 lei per gigacalorie. According to him, the gas grew dearer, but the crude oil is expected to get cheaper in January and thus the thermoelectric plants CET 1 and CET 2 and the heat supplier Termocom must be ready to decrease the charge.
The schools will be supplied with a minimum amount of heat during the students’ autumn holiday – from the evening of October 28 until the morning of November 6. The same will happen in the administrative buildings at night.
“The compensation for heat will also rise. Those who filed applications the previous years must confirm that they have lower incomes than those stipulated in the regulations,” said the mayor.
According to the Public Amenities Division, almost half of the about 30,000 persons who received compensations for heat last year have submitted confirmation applications so far. There were also received about 1 000 new applications.
