19 injured as bus with Moldovan vacationers crashes in Romania

Nineteen people were injured after a Moldovan bus carrying 70 passengers to their vacation destinations in Bulgaria crashed in the Romanian county of Brăila.

The bus hit a truck trailer parked on the roadside near the villages of Bărăganul and Însurăței. Multiple ambulances were deployed to the scene.

19 people were injured in the crash, including 18 adults and one child. The 11-year-old and five other people were admitted to the Brăila County Hospital and three others were taken to the Galati County Hospital. Two people are being monitored. The hospitalized passengers are in satisfactory condition.

The other passengers were accommodated at the Culture Center in Bărăganu, the village where the accident took place. They were offered water and food. The transport company promised to provide replacements to pick up the passengers.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs communicated that the Embassy of Moldova in Bucharest is in contact with the local authorities, being available to undertake all necessary consular actions.
