Eighteen settlements in three northern districts were disconnected from the power supply following the heavy rain that fell last night and this morning. Most of the villages that remained without electricity form part of Telenesti district.

Contacted by IPN, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Diana Turcan said the power supply is off in 13 villages of Telenesti district, four villages of Floresti district, and one village of Falesti district.

There were no new cases of floods, but the situation in Gotesti, Cantemir continuous to be serious. Owing to landslides, seven families risk remaining without homes. On September 19, a team of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service will travel to the scene to identify solutions to save the houses in danger.
