Eighteen students of the Theoretical Lyceum “Vasile Alecsandri” received money awards (of 300 lei) and diplomas at the third Gala of Laureate Scholars of the education institution, IPN reports.

The representative of the General Division of Education, Youth and Sport Elena Vorotneac said that a council consisting of teachers and students selected the students with the best school standing. “The idea was put forward by the lyceum in a move to stimulate the students to learn better, while the Division supported the action at organizational level,” she said.

The Lyceum “Vasile Alecsandri” is the first classical lyceum opened in Moldova. Only tenth-twelfth students from different areas of Moldova study here.

Last year, there were awarded 25 students.
