A number of 163 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Moldova on June 22 after doing 1,004 tests, 881 of which primary ones. Of those diagnosed with the virus, 18 are healthcare workers, IPN reports, with reference to Konstantin Rymish, secretary of state at the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.
The official said all the new cases are local transmission cases. Thirty-two of the 465 infected patients who are in a serious state in the hospital were connected to mechanical ventilation.
As many as 123 infected persons got cured and were discharged. A total of 8,019 infected persons recovered so far.
Seven persons lost the battle with COVID-19 on June 22, taking the death toll to 480.
As many as 14,300 infections with the novel coronavirus have been reported in Moldova so far. Of these, 5,864 are active cases.
