A Criuleni man was sentenced to 16 years in jail for murder with extreme cruelty. The 29-year-old committed the crime at the end of last year, Info-Prim Neo learned from a press release of the Prosecutor General’s Office. According to prosecutors, in December, the drunken suspect beat his victim, hitting him in different parts of the body. Then, he tied the victim’s hands, legs and neck with electric cables, set him on fire and left. The victim died shortly from carbon monoxide poisoning. The murder took place in the victim’s house, where the two men had consumed alcohol. In court, the prosecutors demanded a life sentence for such murder. The sentence can be appealed.
